Version of GIMP that uses the general layout of Photoshop.
If you usually use
Photoshop, you have surely memorized its options, where everything is and how to find each option. But Adobes' application is really expensive, and
GIMP is more than capable of performing the majority of tasks. The only problem that existed was that the interface of both programs was really diffrente, but that is a problem that
GIMPshop can quickly fix.
GIMPshop is a
GPL development based on GIMP with the general idear of managing an
interface that is identical to that of Photoshop using the well known
free image editor, to try and attract the Photoshop users that weren't willing to change application because they were going to have to learn to use a new one, but were willing to change over to a
freeware application.
To simulate the
Photoshop interface,
GIMPshop reoganizes all of GIMPs menus and options, as well as using all the nomenclatures used by the Adobe application instead of those used by the original GIMP, something that is really helpfull for user that are starting and are using
manuals and tutorials designed for Photoshop, because everything is practically identical.
